Skedaddle to Seattle

Recently we made a quick trip to Seattle. Jason had to spend all day taking the NCEES exam, so Lauren and I played. We spent all day hanging out around the Space Needle. There were tons of things to do, but I was sure glad when the day was over. Here is a list of some of the things we saw.

The Space Needle: (If you look closely, Lauren is standing at the bottom.)
The Pacific Science Center: the Tropical Butterfly House. This was really neat to walk around a room full of butterflies.

The Insect Village with a giant praying mantis. (These insects creep me out because of how they turn their heads and stare.)
Dinosaurs: A Journey Through Time.
The Children's Museum:

The International Fountain:
All the beautiful rhododendrons:

The carousel: The night before Jason's test we rode the carousel. Then, had dinner at The Crab Pot.

One S-m-a-r-t Girl

I am having a proud mom moment. Lauren wrote her name by herself tonight. I didn't tell her what to write or how to write it.
We have zero treats in our house, so for her reward she received some sprinkles, which she has clutched in her hand. Way to go Lauren!

Willkommen in Leavenworth

Over the past weekend my two sisters, Stephanie and Anne, came up to visit. We decided to go on a drive up to Leavenworth. Leavenworth is a popular destination because of its Bavarian Village. We spent a few hours walking up and down the street that had shops full of pastries, wooden toys, nutcrackers, clocks, decor, clothing, and antiques, all of which were very interesting. It was a fun atmosphere to be in.
I've included a few pictures that I got off Google since I forgot my camera. They are of the street we walked up and down. I tried to get some with the mountains that surround this area, as well as the many orchards. Washington is a beautiful state. I am so grateful to live here. The only disappointment that I have about the whole trip was that I didn't have a bratwurst. We'll have to return again so that I can have a bratwurst with sauerkraut. Hopefully, I'll find some Kartoffelsalat too.

One Boy and Four Girls

We had been looking forward to Stephanie and Anne visiting us for several weeks and I can now see why.
Lauren loves having visitors. They are usually more entertaining than Jason and I.

Lucky for me, I was able to see my sisters. Lauren was able to see her aunts. Jason was able to be in a house with 4 girls.

I love my sisters! I had a wonderful time with them. I am so thankful for the family I have.
